About the Job

We’re a small team of folks (8, to be exact) who are looking to upend the trillion-dollar international parcel shipping industry. In order to build the modern DHL, we’ll need to build a world-class experience, so that consumers abroad will beat down the doors of merchants and say, “I love your product, but I’m not buying it until you ship with Passport”.

We’re looking for our first UX designer to help us achieve our mission of building the most beloved international shipping brand.

  • Do you have a strong UX background in consumer-facing products with demonstrated ability to reconcile vision and strategic thinking with interaction and visual designs?

  • Can you build interactive designs that successfully lead a user through complex flows that look and feel great?

  • Do you enjoy working on real-world problems that can be solved with an effective design?

In this position you will …

  • Work with the CEO to define the product roadmap from a blank slate

  • Design the experience for new products that

    • Make eCommerce merchants love international shipping for the first time

    • Make international consumers trust international shipping for the first time

  • Work hands-on in many different product functions including mockups, usability tests, data analysis, and more

  • Work closely with the Product, Sales, Customer Success and Engineering teams to define our design process with a focus on balancing vision and long-term thinking with iterative and data-driven decision making.

  • Prioritize goals by impact and effort, and figure out the plan to achieve those goals

  • Work hands-on wherever else needed – we’re a startup and we ask everyone on the team to help out!

You have many of the following …

  • 5+ years of experience as a UX designer, product designer, interaction designer or similar UX-related role

  • Knowledge of UX principles and techniques, best practices, and UI patterns

  • Experience collaborating with software developers, product managers, and other designers

  • Experience developing detailed prototypes

  • Experience with mobile design and chat-interfaces

  • Startup experience. i.e. you’re scrappy 🙂

Extra credit if you …

  • Experience with HTML and CSS

  • Have experience managing people

  • Bachelor’s degree in interaction design, HCI, or related UX field

  • Seek out WOW customer experiences
